amazing food too bad they are closing down in a few days old fashion real Italian cooking in a really down to earth location a true gem of white plains. sad to see it go great family business and the staff were truly invested in the work thank you for making the last 20 plus years a wonderful family gathering place when all of the momma's wanted a day of rest to just enjoy the family without cooking all day and night
Another fabulous dinner here! We started off with the mini pizza and I had to get a bowl of the Manhattan clam chowder. The Manhattan clam is outstanding! Always perfectly done. The mini pizza was a great pick! We also got a Gorgonzola salad for 3 which was cold, crisp and excellent. For entrées we ordered a seafood special over rigatoni, and an eggplant Parm. The seafood was very fresh and tasty and the eggplant was delicious. Our server was real nice and accommodating. It's always a great experience here!
Francesco's is from another era. Francesco is the chef and his family is the staff. The food is fresh and authentic and everyone is friendly. The dining room is original style from a few decades back but that's fine by me. It's not trendy and it's not fancy. If you're new to the area and want to see something real, this place is the best. Put this place in Bushwick, Williamsburg or the West Village and you couldn't get in, and even in WP it's hard some nights. Everything is home made, fish is amazing, sides are essential, especially spinach.
My go to when visiting family. Old school ambiance that reminds me of the 60's in Queens. Food is excellent and always served piping hot. What comes out of this small kitchen is remarkable. Broiled scallops, magnificent chicken preparations and pizza that is as good as you may find. Pork chop with vinegar and peppers was sensational. Service is like hanging out at Grandma's, no rush just enjoy. Kudos to Bridget our server.
Known for their chicken parm.. Takes me back to the good ole' days of my childhood stepping in here. If you are nostalgic like I am and want to step back in time and also experience some good old fashioned Italian cooking...go here now.. They unfortunately plan to close next week! I wish they wouldn't! I know they want and need to retire but this place is so great and not many left like it... Here's hoping against hope they decide to stay open! If not, enjoy your beyond well deserved retirement!!!
